Hello Funky Foodies!
I’m so excited to share this new chapter of Funky Foods with you.
For those of you who followed my blog, you already know how much I love discovering unique ingredients and experimenting with them to make everyday recipes a little more exciting.
And if you’re new here—welcome! I can’t wait to Make it Funky with you!
1. Why the switch from blog to newsletter?
Blogs are great, but I’ve been craving a format that’s quicker to create, easier to share, and more fun to read. This newsletter lets me focus on skimmable content packed with creativity and inspiration for my fellow food lovers!
2. What kind of community are we?
Funky Foods is about celebrating creativity in the kitchen! You should subscribe if you want to:
Discover super cool, out-of-the-ordinary food!
Learn how to use them in your everyday cooking.
Grow your kitchen confidence and creativity.
Support small food businesses and their craft.
3. What to expect
Typically you’ll hear from me once a month. Each newsletter will include:
✨ Ingredient Spotlight: I’ll break down everything you need to know about a funky new ingredient I discovered—where it’s from, how to use it, where to find it, and more!
👩🏼🍳 A Recipe: One standout recipe featuring the spotlight ingredient (with photos, of course).
📝 Test Kitchen Notes: Alas, I don’t have the time or resources to test my recipes to perfection (as much as I want to). So I’ll share my honest take on what worked, suggested tweaks, and ideas for making the recipe your own.
🕺 Jazz It Up: Quick, creative ways to elevate an everyday recipe with delicious swaps and unique ingredients.
👀 Funky Finds: Links to cool food products, food art, interesting articles, and recipes you’ll want to bookmark.
4. What’s Next?
Before I send out the first issue, I’d love to hear from you:
What’s your favorite way to jazz up Chicken Noodle Soup?
Hit comment or reply to this email and let me know—I’ll share my favorite ideas in the next issue!
5. Thank you!
Thank you so much for joining me and supporting this passion project of nearly 10 years! It really means so much to me. Feel free to respond to any emails I send with questions, feedback, etc.
Please note, I have no paywalls and I offer my paid subscribers nothing other than the knowledge that they are helping to support my work. Simply having someone read this newsletter is a gift.
